Case #2

35 year old male. Top complaints: cannot fall asleep or stay asleep, joints hurt, smelly gas, fatigue, sugar cravings, headaches

We ran a GI Map + MRT Food Sensitivity Test

Here's what we found:

Not enough good bacteria

Low in 4 keystone commensal species that tie to drivers of his symptoms: inflammation, poor mucosal health driving, low carbohydrate diet.

And being low in both phyla can tie blood sugar dysregulation and indicates the need for clear terrain support.

High b-glucoronidase

Beta-glucuronidase indicates the
dysbiosis we see may be interfering with Phase II liver detoxification...so toxins and excess hormones are recirculating, they're not making it out of the body through the stool.

High SIgA

Secretory IgA plays a major role in helping to maintain balance in the microbiome and protects against exposure to food-derived antigens. When it's high, the immune system is on high alert...so we need to search for why (histamine, food sensitivities, etc.).

22 Food Sensitivities

Several food sensitivities indicate a) leaky gut b) sources of inflammation

All of this exacerbates his symptoms, busies the immune system (as seen with high SIgA), and likely contributes to his fatigue and headaches.

  • Diet

We recommended this client go dairy free during his protocol, given multiple dairy items on his MRT. We gave him our classic method for removing and reintegrating MRT foods and encouraged blood sugar balancing meals. We increased his protein intake, lowered inflammatory food sources, and added gentle liver supportive foods.

  • Rest

We helped this client look forward to bedtime, so he could relax into it. We stressed the importance of reducing blue light before bed, and helped adjust his schedule to accommodate for this. We provided suggestions to support his parasympathetic state before bed, and used a CGM to track his blood sugar leading up to bed time.

  • Movement

We adjusted this client's workout schedule to make use of his morning cortisol and not interfere with his bed time. We added more steps in his day and adjusted his existing workouts to lean more towards strength.

  • Stress

We helped this client reframe stressors so that he felt able to step away from work for the day, instead of diving back into it after dinner. Joy was a big topic we emphasized, encouraging hobbies and time with friends.

  • Supplements

This client started on a protocol that focused on vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to support his liver. We then gradually balanced his high levels of opportunistic bacteria while supporting his immune system. During his protocol, his diet and bowel movements were imperative, so we helped him plan meals and ensure he was able to go #2 at least once daily.

  • Phase Two

Phase one solved 90% of this client's symptoms, but being able to go to sleep at a reasonable hour is part habit, so this is where we focused in phase two. Committing to sleep routines helps to lock in long-term restoration — something the body needs every day to repair, detox, and recharge.
